Accessibility has been an integral concern of the project from the beginning. 94% of the units in phase one will be visitable and 20 units will be fully wheelchair accessible. All amenity areas will also be barrier-free.
The centrepiece of Beaver Barracks is a large organic community garden. Individual garden plots at ground level and planter boxes on the rooftops of each building will be available to tenants who like to get their hands dirty.
An underground geothermal system will provide highly efficient heating, cooling and hot water to every apartment and townhouse at Beaver Barracks. Tenants will pay a flat monthly fee for the utilities.
Beaver Barracks is a new affordable housing development in Centretown.

Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation (CCOC)
is a community based non-profit housing organization.
We own and operate 48 properties in Ottawa that provide over two-thousand residents with quality affordable housing. Beaver Barracks will be our 49th property, adding more than two-hundred new homes to our portfolio.
CCOC is directed and controlled by volunteers and tenants. Our mission is to maintain and promote housing for low and moderate income people. We believe that everyone should have control over their housing.
